Dictation should be instant, universal, and yours.
FluxType is a small team building the voice-to-text layer for Windows we always wished existed. On-device by default. No cloud when you don't want one. Free forever.
Typing is a bottleneck between your brain and your screen.
Every tool on your computer has gotten faster. The keyboard hasn't. We're fixing that — quietly, locally, in the background of every app you already use.
Four things we won't compromise on.
Instant or not at all
Dictation must be as fast as thought. If it takes longer than pressing a key and speaking, it's broken. Every millisecond of UI friction we remove is a thought you keep.
Local by default
Your voice is the most private thing you own. Free local dictation runs Whisper entirely on your machine, so no audio leaves your device unless you explicitly choose an online Pro feature.
Universal, not walled
We work everywhere text input is accepted. No plugins, no extensions, no special integrations. Word, VS Code, Slack, Notion, a terminal prompt — if the cursor blinks, FluxType types.
Free forever, honestly
The free plan is not a trial. Local dictation has no usage caps and includes a built-in AI modes preview for free accounts. Pro exists for people who want cloud models, higher AI allowances, better accuracy, 100 local languages, searchable history, and deeper customization.
